2007 Carlisle Zinfandel Sonoma County

Community Tasting Note

90 Points

Friday, February 22, 2013 - A very nice zin that delivers a mixture of red and black fruits, with notes of baking spice and orange peel. Showing abundant fruit, but at the same time restrained and balanced, with a moderate acid backbone and fine-grained tannins that have mostly resolved. There are herbal and earth notes as well, just a bit of peppercorn, and black cherry and blackberry flavors. As always, a great zin, nay a great wine, for very little coin.
