Monday, July 18, 2011 - A few stars from dinner (Lake Forest, IL): Third time I have had this wine, by far the best showing. Flavors of roasted meat, blackberry with some chocolate hidden in the background. Still quite primary, but this stayed squarely on the right side of seeming jammy. Nose was big and bold as well, with plenty of spice in the mix as well. This was a really fun wine last night, one I'd be thrilled to revisit in ten years and again in twenty. But I think there has been plenty of bottle variations since this wine has never showed this well before.
