Saturday, October 19, 2013 - CT Texas VI - Return to San Antonio; 10/18/2013-10/19/2013 (San Antonio): Double blind. Powerful nose of dark fruit, leather, cherries, and spice. On the palate rich red and dark fruit, leather spice, vanilla. Obvious oak on a drying tannic finish. Knew it was Tempranillo but would not have placed this in Rioja, obviously a more modern style. Hold for at least five years.

Modern style? I hope is a result of its youthful, in any case of a change in the winemaking process

Usually Riscal and Murrieta develop their finesse with time, lots of time, meanwhile in a good RA pleasure is almost instead.
Perhaps for a more modern style, also powerfull at first, we have in mind something like Remirez de Ganuza Reserva. Delicious and complex with age.
