Friday, May 1, 2015 - I'm not going to do a big old note on this one because it might be slightly flawed, not sure. This is the only bottle of this I have ever tasted and after 3 tastes via Coravin I come to the same conclusion that it's either too old or it has a little funk a-la-Bordeaux (esp in the nose).
It just doesn't smell, taste or finish like a typical Schrader. It's not bad, just not very inspiring. The 93 points is a little generous.
The nose has more funk than fruit, then the fruit tries to burst through on the palate only to disappear beneath the funky structure in the finish. It's a well-made wine but perhaps well past its prime. Drink it up if you have it.
