70 Points

Monday, October 10, 2011 - Dark red-purple color. Nose of dried fruits (raisin, prune, cherry), road tar, pine spirits. Medium-low tannin, high acidity. Awkwardly balanced in the mouth, with screechy-high acids and prune-y extract galore, this bottle (tasted blind) was near repugnant for three of our guests at dinner. Bad bottle or the mark of a winemaker with an entirely different targeting system than we're accustomed to ? Who knows, but the diner who brought the bottle liked it plenty, so gave it a C-.
