Tuesday, November 13, 2012 - I was hugely impressed with this bottle, my first taste of Vilmart. From the seemingly warring factions of seduction and seriousness emerges a wine of great finesse and power. Chardonnay dominant, this cuvee exhibits generous orchard fruits laced with overtones of smoky oak. The acid spike on the finish, which immediately refreshes the sweet (10g dosage), succulent baked fruits on the attack, is the key to this wine's structural fortitude. This is a producer whose wines are in need of further exploration.
