Wednesday, May 13, 2015 - The prior notes are right on. Supple and drank beautifully from the moment I popped the cork. Drank from decanter over the course of 2 hours but it really did not benefit from the decanting - it was already brilliant. Dark cherry, without the graphite/pencil shavings that are more prevalent in other (earlier) larkmead cab vintages. Lingered on the palate for more than a minute. Its sweetness is unexpected and may turn some off but I enjoyed it in the context of the wine as a whole. This is hands down my favorite vintage of larkmead cab in the 2002-2012 range that i have tasted over the past 18 months.
