Sunday, May 24, 2015 - Opened and decanted 2.5 hours ahead of a garlic and herb pork roast with root veggies. Dark purple color with a red/violet hue. Concentrated nose brings a lovely bouquet of candied raspberries, strawberries, and especially blackberries - a nice red and black fruit combo - backed up by a potent black liquor cassis, garrigue, mint, and a powerful menthol herb mix. The palate is square, big on entry but medium on exit, bringing black Manhattan cherries, more ripe raspberries, only hints of dark fruit, and nice touches of black licorice and candied strawberries into the finish, which is dry, refined, and lengthy. Overall, drinking superbly now. Still a little on the hot side for my taste, but then again, it's been awhile since I've had a cDP and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Drink now - 2022.
