Thursday, May 26, 2011 - Pretty much all hint of sweetness is gone – this has become a mineral-rich wine of substance rather than heft, of the suggestion of tropical fruit rather than the flesh and the juice, of the memory of caramelization rather than its immediate sweet crunch. The acidity and rocky minerality are prominent yet gentle. Still very fresh, even after 3 days open. I like how this is evolving. Any Rhône vigneron – any – would be proud to call this his.
