First day's nose was a little closed, and a harshly tannic attack resolved to darker, sturdier fruits than I've grown accustomed to in this wine. No secondary characteristics at all aside from a little floral kick on the finish. Day two is a totally different story, with the expected violet, granite and wild red fruit from start to finish and leathery, sauvage and mushroom support. Tannins had resolved to add weight but not detract from the vibrancy of the wine. Acid still high, but perfectly pitched and integrated. Exceptional.
