Saturday, May 16, 2015 - Slow-ox'd for a few hours after pouring wine out to the shoulder. Much nicer than a tester bottle five years ago. It's fleshed out, showing more complexity and texture. Balanced, showing traditional Sangiovese character of dried cherries, plums/prunes, sottobosco, worn saddle leather from quality fruit and elevage in large Slavonian oak botti. Solid finish. At the start of its drinking window, this wine should drink well and possibly improve marginally over the next 5-8 years. Drink now-2023.
