Tuesday, January 6, 2015 - Somewhat lighter ruby color. Pretty cut of cherry on the nose with red spices. This is somewhat muted and hidden but wih some coaxing and air I find the lovely medicinal cherry fruit and classic iron minerals of Rousseau's CSJ. Lighter-bodied and definitely lacks the richness and depth of better vintages but the wine is elegant and the finish finely complex with cherry spice and mineral notes. A lovely wine but still a shadow of what this wine can be in better vintages. I wonder if I'm just catching it at the wrong time. 90?
