Monday, January 9, 2012 - It is hard to not like this wine. I am becoming a big fan of Chenin Blanc from South Africa. There is a nice golden but still clear color. The nose reeks of minerals, honey and lemon. The palate is chalky, fleshy, ripe, grapefruit, lime, melon, and honey. Not exactly complex, there still is some structured body here that doesn't last real long, but gives this value priced wine a nice lift in the mouth. The acid profile works really nice, and actually gets more friendly as the wine warms in the glass. There is a lemony, grainy, taste on the finish.
