Wednesday, December 15, 2010 - This is sensationally good. Although it's very young, this is showing bright red and black fruits, intriguing spice, minerality, and impeccable balance. It is deep, complex, and intense. I have found some young Rhys, including the 07 Family Farm, a little bit stemmy, but with its darker fruit and intense attack, the stems here are overwhelmed by pure, sappy Pinot deliciousness. The ripe tannins suggest that this has a way to go before it reaches its apogee, but even now this is a marvelous young wine.
