2007 Rhys Pinot Noir Alpine Vineyard

Community Tasting Note

Saturday, December 22, 2012 - Short decant before serving. Dark garnet color. Candied red fruit & spicy oak on the nose. Much more reserved/structured palate. This shows an immediate blast of tart cherry intermixed with a spicy character that really makes you long to taste this wine once it integrates more. Intensely structured right now. Firm, unyielding tannins & drying acidity balance the powerful red & black fruit. This is definitely in a youthful, muscular stage, but the elegant underpinnings really show hints of what this will become one day. Endless finish.
