2007 Rhys Pinot Noir Alpine Vineyard

Community Tasting Note

Likes this wine:

Monday, February 23, 2015 - Opened at 11 AM decanted for 2 hours at 5 PM. Initially when the cork was pulled in the cellar, there was a rush of cranberries and spice in the air. Medium dark, very slight hazy color. Nose is mostly red fruits of cranberry, cherry, pomegranate with spices and earthiness. There is a lightless on the palate at first that gains structure thru the mid-palate, medium acidity (by my palate) and finishes with length and mostly spices, (the stems I suppose) although nicely integrated IMO. While lovely now, this is not yet anywhere near it's peak. With 2 bottles left, I plan on drinking one in another 2 years and the last as long as I can discipline myself.
