Tuesday, May 6, 2014 - Bodegas Lopez de Heredia, Hosted by Maria-Jose Lopez de Heredia (Berry Bros & Rudd, London): Very young still and needs time to develop and gain complexity and weight. Judging by the development of the magnificent 1991 ( Papies - 93-5) this needs a decade more to hit its stride. Very oxitative and sharp and really needs food at this stage to be enjoyable. Patience will truly be rewarded here. 90 for the moment but has a lot of future and promise.

12/27/2014 3:55:00 AM - Hi Papies, I don't think this 1999 can have been a Gran Reserva, as the 1994 Blanco GR has only just been released, and the 1999 Reserva was the current vintage in the market at the time of your tasting. But perhaps BBR had a special pre-release bottle?
