Monday, January 24, 2011 - UGC 2008 Bordeaux (The Drake, Chicago IL): nose: well balanced and classy nose of pencil lead, red cherries, cedar, currants, dark red fruits and cranberry tones
taste: full bodied and brutally young tannins that completely thrash the palate. Behind the oppressive tannins lie tones of red and black currants, pencil lead, red cherries, dark red fruits, and some slight hints of florals
overall: insanely young. The tannins were so brutal that it took a couple of pours to really get much from it. This does have a lot of promise behind it and is well worth waiting for, it just may take a while
