Thursday, August 12, 2010 - Tasted at an industry Joseph Phelps portfolio event. Loads of dark currents, graphite and dark chocolate on the nose. Had a hint of creaminess about it as well. Not sure if it was because it was so young, but was much too fruit forward. Loads of current and plum, spice box and a nice note of acidity and tannin on the finish. Nice lasting mouthfeel and there was a smooth creaminess that you could tell was lying in wait. Definitely needs a minimum of 5 years before opening. Personally, there was way too much fruit for my taste. Also, would not pay $200+ for this.
