Thursday, July 12, 2012 - About a 30 minute decant. Inky dark in the glass. Rambunctious fruit on the nose with oak, hints of earth, vanilla. The palate is gorgeous. Dark fruit predominates with additional layers of oak, pencil lead, hints of spice, anise, blueberry. Tannins are structured for cellaring, but soft enough to enjoy without a high pucker factor. Long finish that diminishes just as the palate is begging for another sip.
