Thursday, November 28, 2013 - Purchased upon release and cellared in pristine fashion, this wine was decanted off its sediment and aerated for two hours prior to serial sampling. Deep garnet, it has an attractive bouquet of red currants, coriander, nutmeg, cocoa and pipe tobacco. The wine's tannins are now nearly fully resolved, leaving a medium-bodied frame with medium acidity and nicely integrated alcohol (listed as 13%). The flavors mirror the nose and build on the mid-palate. Concluding with substantial length, this is an impressive, fully-mature Napa Cabernet which should hold up for another five years (or more). Drink now-2018.
