Saturday, August 30, 2014 - Ultra-classic Sauternes nose. Young and fat. Saffron, cocos, botrytis and oak. Very determined. Dense.
Fullish, creamy palate. Very impressive spine of acid. Very yummy with layers of sweet taste: butterscotch, saffron, cocos, botrytis and oak. Young and dense. Not come together yet.
Tasted blind and compared to 4 other top Sauternes from 2008 we were not very good in determining the house style of the chateau's. We were mighty impressed by this (Winner). Since we have always been impressed by Rieussec we thought this was the one. Give this 10 years and it will be an elegant, refined super-star. The structure is there.
