Thursday, May 2, 2013 - Terrific QPR Bordeaux from 2008. Clear dark garnet with purple bubbles on pouring. Lovely nose of leather, smoke, and cassis. Ripe, medium palate of blackberry, fig, plum, leather, and licorice. Excellent length. Food-friendly acidity. Sweet tannins. Silky texture. This wine performs way above its pay grade. Full disclosure: my wife didn't care for it. She had the 2005 CYT Don Melchor just before, which may have masked this wine's subtlety.
