Tuesday, October 27, 2015 - Drink up my last bottle of 1998 and was pleased that the wine holding better than my previous bottle.
Dark ruby with brick red hue and transparent rims. Pop and pour and the wine is showing well. Nose of dark fruits, blackberry, black cherry, spice, hints of mint and leather.
Fruits holding well after 16 years , exhibits nice ripe fruits, dark plum, black cherry, spice and pepper. Mellow down and showing medium bodied, fruits and acidity are holding well. It is still the richest and biggest among 1997 to 2000 with more ripe fruits and higher alcohol (14.5%). Sweet and soft chewy tannins, lingering peppery finish with hints of leather as well.
