Friday, April 3, 2015 - What a disappointing development in this wine -- I clearly called it wrong 6 years ago and should have drunk up my remaining bottles. Dark red fruits, brambly, even slightly bretty. Nose is of wild raspberries. Extremely fruity & forward, soft. No acidity to speak of, so flabby and flat within minutes. Lacks freshness. Some ripe (though very slightly tooth-furring) tannins at the end. Flavor profile rapidly develops towards raspberry compote / stewed raspberries. After 20-30 minutes, wine begins to fall apart, with the alcohol becoming very clear (a hot wine!) and separate from the rest of the flavours. Is there a tiny hint of gout de coccinelle (ladybird taint) at the end? We abandoned the wine at this point -- too flabby and alcoholic to drink. Perhaps a fan of new-world pinot would like this. Drink now and enjoy in the first 10 minutes.

Interesting to see how tasting notes from 2011 and prior reflect one thing, and more recent notes another.
