Wednesday, March 25, 2015 - Medium yellow. Slightly different fruit character than I've gotten with past bottles-yellow peach and fresh cut apple with minimal secondary aromas. Off dry, fairly full bodied and textural for a Mosel Spatlese. Glorious freshness and clarity of fruit (with even a bit of pear on the palate), good but not particularly prominent acidity, fine slate finish. Excellent, as it has been on every occasion.

On the second day, more spicy, just as lively, and now more tangerine. Delicious!

3/27/2015 7:24:00 AM - I remember buying this wine for $20 as well as any other JJ Christoffel I could get my hands on after opening my first bottle of one of the '01s. A complete triumph across the board and still plenty of upside potential at this point.

3/27/2015 8:17:00 AM - Jeff-I completely agree. As I was marveling about how youthful this was, the thought crossed my mind that many of these 2001's remind me of 1971's which were still going strong at 30 years of age.
