Sunday, May 29, 2005 - Still very dark ruby. Very interesting, albeit a bit passive, nose. Seems still closed and almost a bit reduced right now. Only hints of currants, tobacco, hot earth, tar, and mocha. On the balate, a rather big wine with a solid structure, but it's closed on the palate too. Contrary to many 96 BDX, this will need more time in the cellar, at least for me. Impressively long finish, but the tannins will have to integrate a bit more to make this an enjoyable wine. Yet I am sure it will be great in 5 to 10 years from now.
