Thursday, August 5, 2010 - California Wine Tasting Adventure; 8/2/2010-8/6/2010 (Napa, Sonoma): Tasted at winery. This was a bit reticent and subdued on the nose. Lush blueberry pie after some swirls in the glass. I thought this was over the top and too sweet. The standard merlot elements were a bit out of balance, but there was nice underlying concentration and this may evolve into something better than the current score. The mocha, blueberry and dense jammy fruits were all there, but this lacked focus.
