Sunday, May 31, 2015 - Decanted and followed for about 5 hours.
Nose shows an rather modern super Tuscan, with too much oak for my taste.
More time in the decanter did not help, nor did extensive swirling.
Cherries, vanilla, oak spices, burnt wood, leather, some herbs, iron and earth.
Palate is equally too affected by the oak treatment.
Dry red cherries, darker cherries, earth, herbs, some tin can, blood, vanilla, chocolate and spices.
An okay Super Tuscan, but no more.
Can easily be cellared for another 5 years or longer, and maybe things will come around?
Medium length finish, with medium tannins and acidity.
