Friday, March 1, 2013 - Giddyup! De-canted and drank over 1.5 hours (couldn't wait longer). Viscous pour out of bottle. Dark purple color - all the way to the rim. Pickled beets, a little iron, tobacco, dark cherry and raspberry fruit, some dark chocolate and coffee (emerging after some air) on the nose. Wine really opened up at the 45 minute mark. HUGE mouthful on the palate - lots of structure, big sweet fruit (raspberry fruit roll wrapped around wet tobacco) tannins, dark chocolate and coffee. Long finish. Fantastic now, has at least 10 years left.
