Saturday, August 14, 2010 - The tasting notes below hit the nail on the head - very Gruner-like. Our bottle started off on a very aldehydic/bruised apple note that seemed to blow off in time. Blossomed into an exotic wine featuring a nutty, apple-y richness, finishing with a distinct white pepper note and pleasing minerality. Complex and interesting wine but comes off a little heavy for my taste, the waxiness and fatness of the wine overshadowed the acidity, making it more pleasing without food rather than with (arancini, scallop crudo, charcuterie) . Good value.
