85 Points

Saturday, February 9, 2013 - Not exactly my favorite style, this one is not very expressive or memorable. Has an almost Old World type of shale minerality that brings some credibility. The color is golden enough. The nose has some apple skin and lemon peel, but not much. When it hits the palate, there is some slightly unripe pear. mineral laced lemon and spice. This is a non vintage, so we have no idea how old it is. There is not a hint of grassiness. Tastes more like a Semillion. There are small amounts of French Colombard, Malvasia, Chardonnay, Semillon, and Chenin Blanc which may explain why I am not appreciating this as a Sauvignon Blanc. The finish is giving some honeydew melon. One of those wines that practically devoid of prominent acidity, still tastes pretty good.
