Saturday, December 15, 2012 - The first of 4 purchased on release, it was decanted for 2 hours with half the bottle poured off to a 375 and put in the fridge to try again in a few days.
Served with cheeses, this wine is a beast that comes off as an attempt to create an Argentine Amarone. Dense, extracted, backward, and tannic with 15.1% ABV, it was totally wound up giving little on the nose or palate.
I just don't care for this brutish type of winemaking and will likely pass them on to my adult children who are more favorably inclined to this style.
Little change or improvement from the reserved portion after three days.
