Saturday, March 8, 2014 - Outstanding!! and drinking beautifully after about 2 hours or so of double decanting. Tonight this was all soft, rich, feminine red fruit with an edge. All the usual CDP elements make an appearance, garrigue, anise, leather, perhaps some Asian spice, a hint of stewed fruit, white pepper and some firmish, chalky tannins on the finish. While full bodied, this is not a blockbuster CDP, rather, this is a wine of finesse and elegance. Quite delicious, and while mature, I think it has a lot of life left, but for me, I'll probably drink my last bottle in the next year or so. I like to drink my CDPs while the stewed components are subtle, not dominant.
