Wednesday, May 20, 2009 - Once a favorite. Still a monolithic wine, but now with fading candied fruit and noticeable heat on the finish. No complexity or benefits from bottle age that I can detect. A little ripe on finish, but not overly pruny. Very advanced for its age with noticeable browning at the edges. Not the train wreck that is the 2003 Koplen, but at most, 87 pts. Drink up.
