1976 Château Montrose

Community Tasting Note

Saturday, November 19, 2011 - Dark ruby with a brief tawny rim. Very dry fruit nose, some tobacco, tar, cassis, black cherry and lots of dry flowers. Very dry palate with smooth tannins, but no astringency, perfectly ripe black and blue fruits. Very elegant, smooth wine; not a powerful blockbuster. Somewhat shorter finish than the nose and palate suggest. Still quite fresh and could have a few more years though probably not many.
