Thursday, December 23, 2004 - Low neck fill. Mold covering top of cork. Cork totally soaked through. Decanted for 2 hours. Very strong nose of cherries immediately upon opening bottle. Appeared a little orange as it was being decanted, but once in the decanter it was a deep red/purple. Nose of cherries, lead pencil. Tannins were completely resolved. Very smooth. I'm sure there was more fruit there at some point, but it is definitely receeding at this point. Time to drink up, but a very nice mature wine.
