Tuesday, February 19, 2013 - Clos Vougeot Masterclass, with James Handford MW (Handford Wines, London): Light bricking in colour, def looks and feels older than an 07. Smoky, mocha notes. We liked this quite a bit at this stage although most of the group didn’t like its more obvious and fruit forward side. Interesting mix of freshness and sweetness. Which begs the question of whether this was heavily chaptalised. Firm, grippy tannin, feels young but still a giving wine. Ripe fruit, a bit built for earlier drinking but quite enjoyable at this stage. – 91
