Friday, December 16, 2011 - Traipsing through Paris; 12/16/2011-12/20/2011 (Paris, France): A very nice little Chambolle. I loved the nose here, with its reams of roses and violets, all fresh cut and fragrant, alongside deeper notes of damp earth and undergrowth, fresh red cherries and spice. Classic Chambolle and really pretty. The palate was really nice too and, like many 2007s, drinking extremely well in its youth with a lovely silken tannin structure. Here, I got dark cherries and plums, a touch of earth and some Christmas-cake spices, all surrounded by a halo of perfumy violets. This had the clean, clear precision and lovely transperancy of a classic vintage, yet had no lack of depth at all. A nice little Chambolle.
