Monday, June 26, 2006 - Deep black ruby color, more like a Northern Rhone than a burg. The nose has a note of sous bois, but is dominated by stewwed black fruits (prunes?). Not sure if this wine has closed down, or just was never open but for a 2000 it is giving me surprising little. The palate is hard more typical of a 98, not silky or charming in any way. I detect notes of green, underripe stems on the palate. The mid palate is thin, with a rather hollow middle. The finish disapates quickly. Very disappointing, I'll try the 2nd half tomorrow and see if it opens up at all.
