Sunday, March 29, 2009 - This is day old leftovers from my friend Erich (ews3) from the Great Grapes benefit. The secondary notes are most prevalent here. Thick dark color. Good amounts of black and red cherry with some raspberry on the nose. Dark mocha and coffee on the nose with caramel, with the fruit playing second fiddle here. Long finish. Good density and complexity with great finish. This is a fabulous wine, with good subtlety. However, when it comes to Pinot Noir, give me a Burgundy any day.
