Thursday, January 1, 2015 - Wine is drinking well now, but unfortunately had this after a Hartwell Res '04, and this wine is clearly less balanced. The tannins are a bit sharp in the early body and some heat lingers through the finish. Sadly the fruit is already fairly subdued so in the race between fruit longevity and tannin softening, it appears the fruit is losing. I still have half a case of this, so it will be good to drink and see if softer tannins allow more fruit to come through.
