Monday, December 24, 2007 - Paid SGD 200 for this bottle. A bit steep for a second wine one would have thought but absolutely no regrets. Had it last Christmas at my house during a BBQ. The flight was as follows: 02 La Dame de Montrose, 94 Gruaud Larose, 00 Pavillon Rouge and 00 Brunello di Montalcino Castel Giocondo. Was with TK, Piao, Wendy, Pat and Debs. Thoroughly enjoyable night.. Had food and good wines with candle light. The pavillon rouge was astoundingly good. Stunning complex nose with an equally beautiful floral taste on the palate. "Frangipani" I kept thinking and they did not even grow these trees in Bordeaux. "How did they do it??" Actually quite hesitant to try another bottle as I am concerned it may not quite reach the previous heights and I did not want my perfect memories to be shattered. It was a great wine to be had that night but more importantly, the company was excellent.
