95 Points

Thursday, November 27, 2014 - Popped and decanted for half a day before drinking. The wine pours an inky purple color with minimal bricking at the edges. Thick long legs. On the nose, the concentration is just so compelling with strong notes of currants, cherries, leather, boysenberries, truffles and a hint of smoke. The wine exhibits a well-defined structure and glides effortlessly down the tongue and into the back of the throat. There are notes of cassis, kirsch, menthol and an abundance of earth and truffles to boast. Finish is super long and it just lingers on the tongue for close to a minute. A spellbinding wine that just shows the pedigree of this winery. Incredible.
