Thursday, October 8, 2015 - This bottle of the superb and prime time 1997 Camartina performed significantly better than the previous one I had. Boasting a deep crimson core the wine offers a lovely aromatic array of fresh mint, burnt tar and led pencil shavings. It is medium to full bodied and deliciously unctuous, indulging the palate with delicately interlaced layers of dark fruit, licorice and rich fruit cake. The finish is long and velvety and there is still a fair amount of well polished silky tannin suggesting more aging potential here. A true beauty to be enjoyed over the next 7 years.
