Saturday, April 16, 2016 - 2001 Chardonnay Magnum Tasting (New Jersey): Usually I find Moccagatta Barbaresco's to be tannic monsters from youth through middle age, but this one is yielding a bit more than usual.Classic nebbiolo with earthy mushrooms, dark cherry and a touch of anise. Chewy on the palate and lovely to drink...great with the Sicilian meat balls. This may get a little better/softer but that is not too far off in my mind.
