Monday, May 26, 2014 - This opaque ruby blend of 72% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20% Merlot, 6% Cabernet Franc and 2% Malbec delivers aromas of rich black cherries, dark chocolate, clove and coriander. Full-bodied on the palate, it frames black fruit and mineral flavors with low-to-medium acidity and medium-weight, fairly fine-grained tannins. The alcohol (listed as 15.2%) does show some heat, even when served as low as 60° F. This heat becomes most noticeable on the medium-to-long back end. While very enjoyable and still packed with fruit, it is concerning that the alcohol is not fully integrated. Drink now-2024.
