Monday, September 7, 2015 - Decanted 4 hrs. First impression is how much weight this wine has gained since my last taste in August 2002. A real wild card on the nose, exotic eastern spices and salon quality hair products (courtesy of my better half) and even a little funk. The weight I described earlier manifested itself by a more sweet edge to the red autumn, baking spices, a slight meaty edge. The trademark pomegranate trait was definitely there, but not quite as pronounced as previous vintages. A lot of enjoyment to be had to day, so take off the do not touch sticker, still, should hold 5 years, perhaps a bit more.
