Saturday, July 25, 2015 - PnP. Medium-dark ruby color, lightening up slightly towards the rim. Opens up after a few minutes in the glass. Notes of red berries (red currant, raspberries), spices (pepper, some licorice), and some steely/irony minerality, as well as a touch of orange zest and menthol. On the palate there is also some animalic meat/leather note. It's medium-full bodied but not heavy, with still pretty high acidity and medium+ tannin that is silky. Good length. A pretty, elegant but not super complex Côte-Rôtie from Guigal. It's not the best vintage, but there is a nice vein of minality and acidity providing nice freshness. It's ready to drink now, I'm not sure if it will get much better from here.
