Thursday, January 26, 2012 - A wonderful wine, the 2008 Cuvée Réservée is drinking superbly at present. The nose at first exhibits huge amounts of Earl Grey tea, herbs, wet stable/hay and dark brooding fruit. After an hour in the glass the Earl Grey tea is replaced by vivid and very expressive raspberry. Of course the classical rustic and rough Pégaü character is there as well. Some 'blame' it on brett but I actually like the tones of wet stable. The palate is medium-bodied and is rather short on the finish. Tannins, acidity and oak are nicely balanced. This is a very nice wine and it is open for business without too extensive aeration.
